Closing a second ERP after a merger: Partner.Co's NetSuite history exported in under a month

Partner.Co had merged with another company and was running two ERP systems. The plan was to consolidate on one and switch NetSuite off, with a short gap between finance finishing in NetSuite and the shutdown date. They needed the historical data out, in a form that could be referenced years later, before that date arrived.

From start to finish, the project was completed to our satisfaction in under a month.

Brandon Carter, Managing Director of Financial Systems, Partner.Co

The situation

Two ERP systems after a merger, a decision to keep one, and a NetSuite account with a shutdown date. The finance team would finish its last entries shortly before that date, so whoever did the export had to work inside a narrow window and cope with records that were still changing. Partner.Co wanted a copy of the history that could be referenced in the future, for emergency purposes, without keeping the subscription alive.

What Blueacrobat did

After an initial assessment and an NDA, the two teams gathered statistics on the account, agreed which data needed to come out, arranged access and fixed a start date. The first extraction produced CSV files and load files for a MySQL database. The finance team was still making changes in NetSuite while that ran, so once they had finished, Blueacrobat ran a delta extraction covering everything that had changed since the first pass and delivered the same two formats again. Partner.Co dealt with one project manager throughout.

The outcome

The project was completed in under a month, start to finish, with updates by phone and email and prompt answers to questions. The one thing the reviewer would have changed was the range of payment options, which they described as not a huge deal.

In their words

  • “They were great to work with, understood our situation, and provided the needed solution we were looking for. Very responsive, and the whole project went smoothly.”
  • “Provided exactly what they said they would.”
  • “I thought the cost was very reasonable.”
  • “I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.”

A fixed shutdown date with finance still posting is the most common shape of an extraction engagement, and the delta pass is what makes it safe. AcroXtract is the service Partner.Co used.
