A local copy of NetSuite, kept in sync through a migration to Sage

A corporate real-estate budgeting software company was in the middle of moving from NetSuite to Sage. Until the move completed it wanted a complete, locally held copy of its NetSuite data, kept current, and set up to the security standards its own engineers would sign off.

If we weren't leaving NetSuite, I'd stay with this company.

Principal Security and Operations Engineer, software company

The situation

Two goals: back up NetSuite, and hold a local copy of the data for the transition away from it. The person running the engagement was the company's principal security and operations engineer, so the setup had to satisfy a security review as well as work.

What Blueacrobat did

Blueacrobat set up continuous backup of the NetSuite account into a database the company held locally, with one point of contact, over email and messaging. The setup instructions were complete and met the company's security requirements. The initial database setup was, in the reviewer's words, easy.

The outcome

As soon as the sync was enabled, the engineer could verify in the local database that everything was being copied. Everything was delivered on time; support was responsive, including after hours, and flexible. Asked for areas of improvement: nothing comes to mind.

In their words

  • “As soon as we enabled the sync, we could verify in our local database that it was in fact copying everything.”
  • “They were extremely responsive as well, even after hours. They were very flexible as well.”
  • “The product worked as described, and had no issues. Initial set up of the DB was easy, and very communicative throughout. Instructions for setup were complete and met high security demands.”

A backup you can verify from the first sync, into a database you hold, is the reassurance a migration needs. That is DBVault Continuous Backup.
